Animal Protection Society

The Animal Protection Society (APS) of Durham runs our local county shelter and provides temporary safe haven to the homeless animals in our community. We proudly support the APS and encourage you to consider adopting your next pet from the thousands of pets the APS cares for each year.

Beyond Fences

Beyond Fences, formerly The Coalition to Unchain Dogs, is a non-profit, volunteer effort dedicated to improving the welfare of dogs living outdoors on chains. As volunteers of this great organization that not only forever changes the lives of dogs but the lives of their guardians and our community as a whole, we can tell you the results of their work is nothing short of extraordinary.

Independent Animal Rescue

Independent Animal Rescue’s (IAR) mission is to rescue and provide safe and responsible care for homeless, abandoned and abused animals. A network of foster homes, IAR has been helping the homeless animals of our area since 1994.

Freedom Ride Rescue

We are proud to be the crazy dog lovers who skip out on work to transport dogs from all over the state to their excited fosters’ homes; who stay up late searching shelter pages for that next “Freedom Ride” potential; who spend countless hours making rescue a reality.

Saving Grace Animals for Adoption is dedicated to lowering euthanasia rates and promoting adoption in North Carolina. Saving Grace aspires to foster lifelong connections between well-deserving dogs and families, placing them in successful, nurturing homes. Through support, guidance, education, and service, our compassionate volunteer-powered group commits to creating a positive, sustainable impact within the community. 

Lap of Love

Lap of Love provides veterinary hospice and in-home euthanasia. They can help guide you in determining when the ‘right time’ is and help dogs and cats make a peaceful end-of-life transition in the comfort of home.

Unleashed, the Dog & Cat Store

Unleased’s is locally owned and operated by founder, Amy Phinney, and JP Phinney. Their mission is to provide the best a dog and cat can get, at affordable prices, so that every dog and cat can be as happy and healthy.

Kind Pest control

We take an environmentally kind approach to pest control services. We are happy to provide services to take care of a range of pest problems including, but not limited to, spiders, ants, beetles, cockroaches, rodents, and termites. All Dogs Allowed

All Dogs Allowed is a training and enrichment center located in Cary, NC (and expanding) that provides group classes, day training, and private training. Our diverse team of qualified trainers works to foster an accessible, inclusive, and fun training environment – for both the dogs and the humans!

Paws4ever

Paws4ever Animal Sanctuary in Mebane is a limited-access shelter which provides support to our entire animal welfare community, including open-admission county shelter partners. P4E commits to their animals for a lifetime and never euthanizes for space. They also offer positive reinforcement dog training classes. Find your new best friend there.
